 I do a lot of things

ANNE   : My name is Anne Hamilton. I'm a telephone operator.

EVA       : Where do you work?

ANNE   : I work for Metro Telephone Company. My job is very interesting.

EVA      : Do you work all the week?

ANNE  : I work five days a week and my hours are from 9 to 5. 

EVA     : You must be busy every day.

ANNE  : Exactly. I do a lot of things - I place long distance calls for people, I answer questions.

EVA      : Do you help people in emergencies ?

ANNE  : Yes. Today, for example, I had an emergency call.

EVA     : Tell me!

ANNE  : At ten o'clock this morning, I got a call from some woman. She was very upset about something. She gave me her address. 

EVA     : She asked me to send an ambulance right away. I asked her if now somebody was hurt, and she said her boy broke his leg. She told me she needed a doctor right away.

EVA     : So?

ANNE  : I said I'd call an ambulance for her.

VERA : That was Caroline. She and Dave just got back from their trip to Europe.
BILL   : Oh, they did ? So, what did she say about Italy?
VERA : They had a wonderful time. She said we'd really enjoy it.
BILL   : Did you ask how the weather was? 
VERA : It seems it was cool in Rome, but nice and warm along the coast. 
BILL   : Did she say where they they stayed?
VERA : She told me but I don't remember. 
BILL   : Did she say whether the hotels were crowded ? 
VERA : Yes, apparently they were. They always are full at this time of year. She recommended that we
make our reservations as soon as possible. 
BILL   : Well, we'd better do some checking. Do you still have that guide book ? 
VERA : Yes. It's on the desk.
BILL   : What did it say about accommodations ? 
VERA : It says the cheapest is around 150 dollars a day.
BILL   : We can go next week.

Helen : What do you plan to study?
Linda : I'm thinking of majoring in management.
Helen : That's a good field. And what about you, Bob?
Bob    : I'm hoping to go to Africa.
Helen : Oh, really, And what are you going to do there?
Bob    : I think I'll just travel around for a while.
Helen : Lucky you! Steve, what do you think you're going to do?
Steve  : I am going to go to college, but I might have to postpone it and get a job instead. I just don't have the money right now.
Helen : I know what you mean. Money is pretty tight these days. And you, Susan?
Susan : I suppose I'll have to look for a job, too.
Helen : Your brother is a doctor, isn't he?
Susan : Yes, He is a surgeon in Houston. We meet almost every month.
